Support La Isla after Hurricane Fiona
On September 18th, almost 5 years to the day after Hurricane Maria, Hurricane Fiona struck Puerto Rico, bringing winds of up to 80 miles per hour, and dumping up to 30 inches of rain on the island. This downpour washed out bridges, created widespread flooding, and triggered mudslides all over. The entire island was without power during Fiona, and only small parts of the island have regained power. In many places around the island, the flooding is worse from Fiona than it was after Maria.
You can help by supporting Non-Profit Organizations and mutual - aid groups that have proven they can get aid directly to our people on the island. Many of the NPOs below provided donations and support during Hurricane Maria, and now, they are doing it again after Fiona.

Active Donation Opportunities
Luis M. Santiago & Jose Nevarez Landron Schools in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico
18 Parallel Relief, founded by Darybel, a Toa Baja native, is collecting monetary donations to purchase items on the island to donate to the Toa Baja residents, and donate towards the repairs of both schools. Luis M. Santiago School is grades PK - 6, and Jose Navarez Landron School is grades 7 - 9. 18 Parallel Relief will be travelling to the island in a few weeks because, after the initial response to the disaster dies down, lots of residents are abandoned and lacking aid. 18 Parallel Relief's goal is to fill that relief gap in Toa Baja, and other municipalities on the island.
